REGISTRATION IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED - 2025 Canada National Super Spelling Bee

 

Following the tremendous success of our 2024 Canada National Super Spelling Bee, we invite schools to register for this prestigious event!

Whether you are a school-based or individual speller, we welcome your registration! Schools and individuals with a passion for words are encouraged to participate in this prestigious event. This is an opportunity to showcase your spelling prowess and potentially become the next spelling champion! 

Don’t forget, the registration deadline is February 28, 2025. We may close registration earlier depending on the number of registrants, so act fast to secure your spot in this fantastic competition.

Registration Procedures for the 2025 Canada National Super Spelling Bee

 

Schools and Individuals Registration:

 

Registration is open to all elementary and middle schools and individuals (Gr. 1-8), including international students.

 

  1. For Schools:

Deadlines:

  • Early Bird Registration: December 31, 2024
  • Final Registration: February 28, 2025
  • Submit Top 3 Spellers: March 31, 2025

What Schools will receive:

  • School Bee Educator Guidebook
  • Study Word List: available for download from the CSSB school account on October 15, 2024

Grade 1-3: 200 Words

Grade 4-6: 200 Words

Grade 7-8: 200 Words

Extra word list for school bee (for school internal use only)

  • Certificate template provided by CSSB

 

  1. For Individuals:

Deadline:

  • Early Bird Deadline: December 31, 2024
  • Registration Deadline: February 28, 2025
  • Date of Individual Preliminary Online Competition: Sunday, April 6, 2025 

 

What individuals will receive:

  • Individual Bee Guidebook
  • Study Word List (200 words) based on your grade: (will be available for download from CSSB individual account on Oct 15, 2024)

 

The entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

 

Qualification:

  • For Schools: The top 3 spellers from each school will qualify for the 2025 Canada National Super Spelling Bee.

 

  • For Individuals: CSSB will host an online individual preliminary spelling bee, and the top spellers will qualify for the 2025 Canada National Super Spelling Bee.

 

2025 Canada National Super Spelling Bee:

Awards:

 

  1. Champion: Trophy and Gold Medal

$1,800 prize ($1000 cash plus $800 CSSB scholarship voucher)
  

  1. First Place's Canadian School

Plaque issued by Canada Super Spelling Bee

 

  1. 2nd place: Silver Medal

$900 ($500 cash plus $400 CSSB scholarship voucher)

 

  1. 3rd place: Silver Medal

$450 ($250 cash plus $200 CSSB scholarship voucher)

  

  1. 4th – 10th place: Bronze Medals

 

  1. For All Spellers: Certificate
